Refined porcelain vase attributed to the Neapolitan manufactory R. Capodimonte – M.A.S., crafted in 1913, as indicated by the inscriptions at the base. The porcelain, of a warm ivory tone, is richly decorated in relief along the central body with many polychrome floral scrolls and mascarons, enhanced by delicate touches of pure gold. The upper neck is adorned with winged cherub heads, while the base is covered with a graceful dance of figures in motion. The circular foot is equally elaborate and finely decorated, attesting to the sculptural quality of the piece. Particularly striking are the two zoomorphic handles, which extend sinuously from the sides of the central body. Fine example of the Neorococo revival that marked the rebirth of the Capodimonte style in the early 20th century, this vase stands out for the finesse of its execution and the perfect harmony of its decorative composition, and it still is in an excellent state of preservation.
