Murano glass vase Corrosi - Carlo Scarpa for Venini - 1930s

'Corrosi a bugne' vase C. Scarpa - Venini - Murano 1930s
Antique Murano glass vase in the shape of a mine. It is part of the series Corrosi a bugne, designed by Carlo Scarpa and made for Venini, which was exhibited at the 20th Biennale Internazionale d'Arte in 1936. This vase was made by using black thick glass covered with gold foil, which creates a great chromatic contrast with the dark base. The spherical surface was corroded with acid, as also the applied bugne. The bottom is engraved "Venini Murano".
