Murano glass sculpture swallow - A.Ve.M. 1950s

Swallow sculpture L. ferro - A.Ve.M. - Murano 1950s
Swallow in flight made by the historic glasswork A.Ve.M., Arte Vetraria Muranese, based on drawing of the master Luciano Ferro. The body of the swallow is in black blown glass, while the branch on which it rests is in crystal glass with gold foil inclusions. Birds represented a privileged theme for the master glassmakers for the dynamic shape of their bodies, for the variety of the plumage and for the characteristics of the species. In this work, Luciano Ferro catches the migratory bird when it is about to fly, with wings ready to start the journey. The beautiful object is in perfect conditions.
