Refined pitcher of the
Cordonati oro series produced in the early Fifties by the glassworks
Barovier & Toso, on the design by
Ercole Barovier. It was made of pink glass with large vertical ribs that enclose a golden twisted string; it has a splendid curled handle and a pronounced upward mouth. This series had immediately a great success, partly because of the contrast between the apparent lightness of glass and its actual consistency. Furthermore, this pitcher being of pink glass, it is even more rare and refined than the other pieces of the series, since red and yellow are more common.
