Giansanti

Ancient family of jewelers, who works in the world of gold since the second half of the ‘800s. The Giansanti are descendants of Giovanni Santi, Raffaello Sanzio's father.
In Rome Giansanti is known in the jewelry world since Egidio Giansanti in the thirties, picking up the legacy of his father Enrico, opened a shop in Via del Governo Vecchio. Even if after World War II he was forced to transfer the business in Via Livorno, a few steps from Piazza Bologna, where the store can still be found today. The son of Egidio, Roberto, over the past 40 years has given to its loyal customers another location where to find their important pieces : the shop in Piazza Cuba (in the Parioli district).

The family Giansanti over the years has worked for five Popes Pius XII, John XXIII, Paul VI, John Paul I ( Papa Luciani who commissioned to the Giansanti family the pectoral that was never delivered due to his sudden death) and John Paul II. For the Pope Montini, they created two golden olive branches, the first of which was taken by Pope Paul VI to the Holy Land where it’s still preserved in the Nazareth Nativity chapel as a symbol of peace, the second is in Uganda. The Giansanti family has also restored and personally supervised the treasury of the Mother of Pompei.
