The Polack watchmaker Antoni Patek started selling watches in 1839 in Geneva in partnership with Franciszek Czapek, from who he then separated in 1844. The following year, Patek started working again in collaboration with Adrien Philippe, who the year before had won a prestigious award for the design of mechanical components at the French Industrial Exposition.
Patek Philippe & Co. is a Swiss luxury watches company, one of the oldest and most prestigious in the world, founded in 1851. It’s also very famous among collectors because it produces on its own all the parts that make up its watches. In 1851, Patek Philippe began supplying watches to Queen Victoria and her husband immediately after the Universal Exhibition in London. Among some of the most important customers of the company there are Popes Leo XIII and Pius IX , King Christian IX of Denmark and his wife Louise, Victor Emmanuel III of Italy and the Sultan Husayn Kamil. Over the years he has introduced or perfected many innovations in his field , including the Double Chronograph and the perpetual calendar.
