Gianmaria Buccellati, born in 1929 in Milan, is one of the most important protagonists of Italian goldsmith's art. Heir to the famous jeweler Mario Buccellati, he made real masterpieces of the goldsmith's art with the use of gold and precious gems. He opened his first store in New York in 1951 and from there continues to make his way in various parts of the world. In 1973, together with other professionals of the sector, he founded the Italian Gemological Institute (IGI) of which he is president for the next 25 years. Various exhibitions in his honor take place with productions that are real works of art, created by the artist who dies in 2015.
