Hand decorated black lace fan - France 19th century

Hand-painted fan Black lace - France 19th cent.
Hand-painted black lace fan, a typical feature of the mourning fan. Given the inserts painted with violets and gray backgrounds, it should represent the typical "half mourning" fan, where it was possible to insert touches of color. Furthermore, there are small hand-painted scenes of outdoor life, which embellish the fan and which recall 18th-century painting, thanks to the lightness of the execution. The fan with engraved and decorated ebonized wood slats (some not intact) has its own display case with a wooden frame, with small engravings with floral motifs and an antique pink velvet base.
