Marina in notturna, oil painting on canvas by Salvatore Petruolo (Catanzaro 1857 - Naples 1946), an artist who established himself in the second half of the 19th century with the representation of landscapes and seascapes that reveal his closeness to the Posillipo school of Edoardo Dalbono, but with a personal and characteristic style. In his works we find a dreamy and romantic atmosphere, as in this nocturne, made particularly captivating by the bright, almost enamel-like colors and a fluid technique. The painting is enclosed in a coeval frame.

Ho fatto pulire e controllare i miei gioielli, quando li ho rivisti ho fatto un salto indietro nel tempo di molti anni, oggi rivedo finalmente questi monili di nuovo brillanti e luminosi come quando mia madre li acquistò da giovane per indossarli e viverli in ogni buona occasione.
