Ermanno Giovanni Zago - known as Erma Zago - is a painter and designer from the first half of the 20th century. He was born in Bovolone (Verona) in 1880 and after his studies he moved to Milan, where he exhibited his works in the most prestigious venues, and where he died in 1942. To broaden his repertoire he traveled to many cities of art of which he painted many glimpses. This painting represents a view of the Grand Canal with the Chiesa della Salute and the Punta della Dogana. It is made with oil colors on a wooden panel with a material brushstroke; the magic of color and the brilliant light effects give this Venetian landscape a particular festive feel. The frame is contemporary to the painting and measures 38 x 46 cm, the state of conservation is perfect.
