Beautiful Russian icon made in egg-based tempera on panel, in the second half of the 18th century. It represents the Baptism of Christ, one of the liturgical moments most represented in Russian iconography. Christ, in the waters of the River Jordan, is baptized by John the Baptist, who is on the left bank, while on the right, three angels wait with the robes.
