Beautiful painting depicting a Roman landscape and dating back to the first half of the 18th century. This oil on canvas, still in excellent conditions, reminds of the works of
Marco Ricci (Belluno 1676 - 1730), a Venetian landscaper, nephew of Sebastiano Ricci, whom he often collaborated with. After living in Rome, the artist started including ruins in his paintings. This work of art was inspired by Ricci's "Roman countryside with ruins and pond" (1710), which is part of Querini Stampalia Collection in Venice. This is probably the work of one of his students, including Giuseppe Zais and Francesco Zuccarelli.
